Santa Rosa Youth Soccer League (SRYSL)

SRYSL is the big one - nearly 3,000 kids playing soccer across the greater Santa Rosa area. If you live in Santa Rosa and want your kid to play soccer, this is probably where you start.

Two Paths

Recreational Soccer

• Community-based teams
• Focus on fun and fundamentals
• Games typically on weekends
• Parent volunteer coaches
• Good for first-time players

Competitive Soccer

• Tryouts required
• Travel teams (NorCal Premier League)
• More serious commitment
• Professional coaching
• For kids who want to advance

Age Groups

U5 through U19 - from barely kicking the ball to high school level

Seasons

• Fall (main season): Registration opens spring, season runs August-November
• Spring: Shorter season, good for new players to try it out

Registration Timeline

• Register early - popular age groups fill up
• Late registration often possible but with fees
• CalNorth player passes required for competitive

Why It’s the Default

SRYSL is the largest and most established. Chances are your kid’s friends are already playing here. Games are played at various Santa Rosa parks depending on your team assignment.
